Hello Fabulous Fashion Friday! Goodbye Casual Friday.

Friday is finally here and I couldn't be happier. Many people go to work laid back on Fridays, but not me. While some people are quickly throwing on their Casual Friday attire, I'm busy putting together a Fierce & Fabulous Fashion Friday outfit. Fridays are fun...the weekend is here and it's time to relax and enjoy it. I feel good, so why not look good in a nice outfit....makes sense to me! HAPPY NEW YEAR! FIRST BLOG POST...RESOLUTIONS...VISION BOARDS...MOTIVATION

Happy New Year! 

With the new year comes many hopes, dreams and aspirations. Many people make resolutions to change and improve and unfortunately those same people will be making the same resolutions next year and so on because they ended up not sticking to it for whatever reason. But hey, who am I to judge anyway? I'm a repeat offender of not sticking to certain resolutions...heck, getting back in shape among other things has been on my resolution list since the year...umm never mind, let's not even go there lol. This brings me to the focus of this post: Why do so many fail at sticking with New Year Resolutions? What would help someone succeed at keeping their resolutions?

Why do we fail at keeping resolutions?
The obvious and easiest answer is that we are creatures of habit and will more than likely take the easiest and most convenient option when available. It's easier to stick the same old routine than to challenge yourself to change, no matter how difficult or uncomfortable it may be initially. The more complex answer is that we are afraid of failing and therefore give up before we try just to avoid failing. You can't lose if you don't play, right? That may be true but it's also true that you can't win if you don't play.

How can we make sure to keep New Year Resolutions?
First, we must overcome the reasons that cause us to fail. Let's look at the fear of failure. One way to prevent that is to make sure that your goals are realistic and attainable. For example, I've wanted to start blogging for a few years but always pushed it to the back burner for several reasons, including the fear of failure. Recently I decided that I would make this year the year that I officially started blogging. My resolution in regards to this is just to simply post blogs. This is extremely attainable as opposed to setting a resolution to substantially profit from blogging which is highly optimistic for a brand spanking new blog and blogger like myself. Don't get me wrong, that's definitely one of my goals in the long term. Now on to changing our habits and getting out of that comfort zone. For me, I am a visual person, if I can see something everyday, I am more likely to remember and make it a new habit. My solution to this is creating a vision board, both a physical one as well a digital version. I included lots of inspirational images and words as well as goals for the year. I'm going to keep this in a spot that I know I will look at at least once a day. Being reminded often of your vision and goals will keep them at the forefront of your mind and keep you focused and motivated to work towards those things.
